One of the 14 girls who will compete on the new season of America's Next Top Model – which returns to The CW on September 3 – is transgender.
"My cards were dealt differently," Isis, a 22-year-old former receptionist, tells Us Weekly exclusively in its new issue, on newsstands now.
Hailing from Prince George's County, Maryland, Isis identifies herself as "a woman born physically male."
Will she be a role model?
"I like to help people, but I'm here to follow my dreams," she tells Us.
The inclusion of Isis is being hailed by GLAAD president Neil Giuliano as "an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television.
"We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible," Giuliano said.
I would just like say that this is a huge leap for GLBTQ visibility and although this is probably going to cause some kind of crazy riot among the homophobes, I applaud Isis for being an out transgendered woman on National television. You go girl!
I admit, I didn't actually watch this season of Tila Tequila Train Wreck, Round 2, but I wasn't shocked when I heard that this time the tables had turned. That's right people, Tila Tequila had her first bittersweet taste of rejection. On Tuesday’s finale of A Shot at Love 2, Tila Tequila’s decision became clear early in the episode when she rooted for female finalist Kristy over potential boyfriend Bo.
Tila presented the key to Kristy and then was in shock and awe when Kristy refused it. “You love that I’m honest and that I’m true to my feelings and true about who I am,” she said. “If I take this key I’m not being true.”
It was Tila's response that really makes me pee my pants a little. “Why would you do that now?” Tila asked. “Why would you put me through all this process? ...I feel humiliated.” Tila's biggest concern was "being put through all this process" when she herself has done that to more people than I can count on both hands, through two seasons of Tila Tequila awfulness!
Apparently, Kristy had been dropping hints all night, though. Over dinner, she told Tila, “I am 120 percent sure of my feelings for you, but I am unsure about my experience with women. I’ve never done this before. I’m so scared to hurt you.” In the limo ride to the final decision, she even said, “It would be a lot easier if she didn’t choose me.” When you're as self-absorbed as Tila, you lack the genetic make-up to pick-up on these hints.
Well, it looks like this is sure to pave the way for Tila Tequila 3: Third Time's a Charm, Right?
Missed the final episode? Here it is. Try not to cry too hard.
I knew that title would get all Kathy fans just a little titillated, if not downright moist in the panties. So Kathy fans, tonight's the night you've been waiting for. Go home, get into that overpriced Fredrick's of Hollywood negligee (and I mean you, boys) and turn your TV to BRAVO at promptly at 9pm (8pm CST) to watch Season 4 of "My Life On the D List".
According to BRAVO, Season 4 is jam-packed with Griffin performing stand-up at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C., opening the Oprah-inspired Kathy Griffin Leadership Academy in Mexico, hosting Air New Zealand's Pink Flight from San Francisco to Sydney, ministering a wedding in Queens, and frolicking with Britney Spears' boy toy Adnan Ghalib. And that's just the beginning of this season's fantastic D-list adventures.
Griffin is flanked by her "peeps," her curious family now officially referred to as Team Griffin. Returning this season is her trusty assistant, Jessica, and her assistant's assistant, Tiffany (who must sell more Griffin merchandise and are also busy with their own hometown press tours); her beloved mother, Maggie (she has recently stolen one of Griffin's best gays, and they are now hanging out at the gay Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in West Hollywood); and her tour manager Tom (still tagging along and taking good care of Griffin). D-list dogs Chance and Pom-Pom are also back and continue to dig up the yard and ignore Griffin when she calls.
And if one hour of Kathy is just not enough for all you die-hards, keep your channels locked on BRAVO because at 10pm, the 1st Annual A-List awards premier with our favorite red-headed diva as the host. I have a feeling this is one awards show that won't be a bunch of stuffy, old producers sitting around in their tuxedos, cuz we all know BRAVO knows how to rock the fun boat, especially when someone like Kathy Griffin has all hands on deck (no pun intended).
Hey Kathy, does the carpet match the shades? Just a question...
So, as most of you know, I'm located in the wonderfully smoggy, traffic-laden city of angels, Los Angeles, CA. Living in LA means that you will inevitably meet famous people and probably end up on a TV show. Ok, maybe not everyone, but for me there is much truth in that statement and I was definitely NOT looking to enter "the biz". LOGO recently filmed a new reality show called "Gimme Sugar" which is about five hot young friends in the L.A. lesbian club scene who bite off more than they can chew when they try to launch and promote their own club night. The show follows them through all their dramas and if they succeed, they'll be the youngest female promoters in LA. The girls will fight, fall in love, break apart, and come back together as they struggle to make their dream come true in this hot new reality series.
My girlfriend and I frequent the nightclub, called "Truckstop" at Here Lounge, that the girls of the show are promoting and one night we found ourselves amidst the filming of the new show. I did not, in my wildest imagination, think I would actually end up on the show. So, I'm excited to announce my 15 seconds of fame on the first episode of LOGO's new show "Gimma Sugar" which airs this Monday, June 9th, at 10pm EST. I'm hoping to snag a clip of myself on the show after it airs, which I will gladly share with you, but in the meantime, here are some pictures of your favorite Lesbiatopia Publisher, enjoying many a night out at the now (or soon to be) infamous Truckstop nightclub in West Hollywood, CA. Can you spot on Monday night on "Gimme Sugar"?
Me, rockin' out with LOGO's "Curl Girls" Michele and Melissa, at TruckStop
Me and my incredibly hot girlfriend, dancing our asses off at TruckStop
The infamous TruckStop dancers
You're guaranteed to "get wet" when the wildly popular dancer, Lolita, comes around

Even Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres from Grey's Anatomy) loves TruckStop!
If you are Top Chef fan, than you will know that both gay men and lesbians have graced the shows presence over the last few seasons. In fact, BRAVO is probably one of the gayest cable television channels ever and we can probably thank the effeminate stylings of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy for really breaking into the "gay genre" of Cable TV. BRAVO has also brought us our favorite fag hag, Kathy Griffin; the dyke with the washboard abs, Jackie Warner; Mr. Fashion, Tim Gunn; and of course the many artistic talents of Project Runway. If BRAVO was any gayer, they'd slap a rainbow flag on it and call it LOGO.
This Season, also known as Season 4 Chicago, there are not one but TWO lesbians on the show. Not only that, but these two women, who both hail from the lovely city of San Francisco, are together. That's right, Top Chef has brought on two talented culinary lesbian women who are in relationship with each other. I don't know about you, but I'd sure as hell like to be invited to a dinner party at their house.
Meet Jennifer: AGE: 35 HOMETOWN: Brooklyn, NY - currently resides in San Francisco, CA PROFESSION: Executive Chef COCO500 Restaurant CULINARY EDUCATION: A.O.S Culinary Arts, C.I.A FAVORITE SIMPLE SPRING RECIPE: Spring Lamb's tongue salad, sauce Dragnocello, Mache, olive oil croutons, and mustard fruit ELIMINATION CHALLENGE WINS: 0/3 QUICKFIRE WINS: 0/3 STATUS: Still Cooking BIO: Born in Brooklyn, NY and trained in classic French and Mediterranean cuisine, Jennifer believes in cooking for the season and stimulating the palette. She has lived and worked in both Paris and London and always tries to incorporate French, Italian and Spanish influences in her cooking. Jennifer is currently working as an executive chef at the popular San Francisco restaurant, COCO500, but says if she could cook anywhere in the world it would be Cinque Terre, Italy.
Meet Zoi AGE: 30 HOMETOWN: Seattle, WA - currently resides in San Francisco, CA PROFESSION: Chef/Restaurant Consultant CULINARY EDUCATION: Self-Taught FAVORITE SIMPLE SPRING RECIPE: Roasted baby California lamb with artichokes, spring onions, lemon and rosemary ELIMINATION CHALLENGE WINS: 0/1 QUICKFIRE WINS: 0/1 STATUS: Still Cooking BIO: A restaurant consultant living in San Francisco, Zoi began cooking at the age of 19 and has worked with some of the greatest chefs on the West Coast. After traveling extensively through Europe, she believes her food reflects her love of Greece and Italy. Zoi describes her cooking as simple and rustic and emphasizes the importance of using local, seasonal ingredients whenever possible.
I'm sure BRAVO saw great potential in this couple, and I don't mean cooking potential. Lesbians = drama, so two lesbians dating = DRAMARAMA!!!!! Both women seem to be pretty laid-back, although Zoi seems to have the personality of a wet-noodle (no pun intended). I wonder who will go home first, and if there will be any type of hostility that develops between the two of them as the competition heats up.
Now before you get your panties in a bind, remember, this IS a cooking show and the only lesbian action you'll probably get to see is when one of the girls licks the spoon from their Hollandaise. If you're a foodie like me, than that's usually enough to do the trick (that and Padma is probably one of the hottest women ever to grace the show's presence... thank the lesbian gods she's the host)
Here's a video of the happy couple (they are showcased at the end of the video). To all my Top Chef fans out there, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
